Ruth Eaton

Textiles

Handcrafted and embroidered clothing and home accessories. Ruth designs garments and accessories in the UK, sometimes collaborating with artists such as Olga Prinku. Then, working closely with a small fair-trade team of partners, the designs are handmade in small batches and embroidered by artisans in India, using traditional stitching techniques that in some cases are in risk of dying out. The garments are designed to be comfortable with an easy silhouette, an effortless, slightly 'boho' style and... pockets! They can be dressed down for the day or up for a party. The embroidery designs are whimsical, inspired by nature. The fabrics used are natural (including bamboo, cotton, linen, silk) and so kind to the skin. They are sourced with care and, in some cases, handloomed by independent weavers while other garments may incorporate vintage fabrics that are thus given a second lease of life.
