Anniversary exhibition launches to celebrate 20 years of Craft Festival
The 20 Years in the Making exhibition, staged at MAKE Southwest from 27 April to 22 June, will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Craft Festival. Established in Bovey Tracey in 2004, not-for-profit Craft Festival is now one of Europe’s finest and most loved contemporary craft events that draws 10,000 visitors to Bovey Tracey each June.
Curated by Sarah James MBE co-founder of Craft Festival, and the MSW Team, the exhibition at MAKE Southwest will feature twenty award winning makers from Craft Festivals over the past twenty years. Each maker was chosen to represent the event’s legacy as a platform to promote and support the best contemporary craft professionals in the UK today.
The award-winning makers chosen by Sarah James to exhibit at the “20 Years in the Making” exhibition are:
Cleo Mussi, mosaic
Isla Middleton, print

“I’m thrilled to curate “20 Years in the Making” and celebrate Craft Festival’s enduring partnership with Make Southwest. This year’s Craft Festival Bovey Tracey will take place June 7 to 9th, and we will launch a new event, Craft Festival Wales, at Cardigan Castle in September. Here’s to the next chapter!” said Sarah James MBE, Director of Craft Festival.
“Craft Festival and MAKE Southwest both champion the best craft in the southwest. We’re thrilled to host twenty of Craft Festival’s award winners from over the years at our gallery for this special anniversary exhibition. It reflects the quality and diversity of craft from across the UK shown at Craft Festival. How wonderful to have such a fabulous event on our doorstep each June” said Laura Wasley, CEO, MAKE Southwest.
